Usually comprising 24–26% chromium, 6–8% nickel, 3–5% molybdenum, and nitrogen, Super Duplex Steel has a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite. This composition provides exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. Mechanical characteristics include a 25% elongation, a yield strength of 550 MPa, and a tensile strength of about 800 MPa.
